Governor Joy Kline

Joy Kline is a member of The Rotary Club of Goochland and a retired banker after a 44-year career with her last stop at Village Bank, a community bank located in Midlothian, Virginia as Executive Vice President of Retail Banking.

She attended Virginia Commonwealth University (Go Rams) and graduated from the Virginia Banker’s Association School of Bank Management held at the University of Virginia. Joy was nominated by her club and honored as one of the Volunteers of the Year in 2011 by the Goochland Chamber of Commerce. In 2020, Joy was selected with 43 others building a better region as Bold Women of Richmond.

Joy first joined the Board of the club as Sargent of Arms followed by Club Secretary and served as the President from 2012-2013. She led as Assistant Governor for Area 2 (Innsbrook, Goochland, Fluvanna, Short Pump). She served on the District Rotary Foundation Committee as Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY) Chair followed by the Annual Fund and Development Chair positions. Joy led the District Awards Committee in 2021-2022.

Joy supports The Rotary Foundation and is currently a Major Donor, Benefactor, Bequest, PolioPlus, and Paul Harris Societies member. Her husband, Mike is a Paul Harris Fellow and Honorary member of the Goochland Club. Joy is a proud mom of her grown children, Jeff (whose girlfriend, Kaitlyn is a Goochland club member) and Jyl (married to Colton).

Having fun includes visiting clubs, facilitating at events such as the multi-district sessions at Chesapeake President-Elect Training Seminars, and attending conferences and conventions while enjoying current relationships and creating new ones. She has attended previous International Conventions and is looking forward to Singapore and Calgary.

Outside of Rotary, Joy has served as the Goochland Christmas Mother in 2020, President 2021-2023, and is currently the Treasurer. Joy loves digging in the dirt to expand her flower and vegetable gardens and plans to become a Master Gardener while GROWING ROTARY.
