District Happenings

Congratulations to Michael Desplaines, 2017-2018 D7600 Rotary Alumni Association President for being selected to receive the 2018-19 Alumni Association of the Year Award. This award recognizes the leadership and service of Michael, his leadership team, and the entire membership of our Alumni Association. Michael was invited to receive the award at the 2019 Rotary International Convention in Hamburg, Germany but will be unable to attend. People of Action Awards

D7600 People of Action Awards will be presented during the Rotary District Conference held September 19- 22, 2019. The Award honors a Rotarian or participant in a Rotary program in the District who is making a difference in the world, either through Rotary, or through their community or global service. Nominations will open on July 1, 2019 and will close on August 7, 2019 at 5:00 pm. Applications will be reviewed by a panel of Rotarians including Past District Governors, and winners will be announced in August. Awards will be presented during the People of Action Awards Ceremony which will take place during the Rotary District Conference Friday Luncheon, September 20, 2019 at The Westin Hotel and Resort, Town Center, Virginia Beach, Virginia. Qualifications for award eligibility include: ? Nominees and Nominators must be a Rotarian or participant in a Rotary program in District 7600. ? Nominations will not be accepted or considered for posthumous awards. ? A maximum of 4 Rotarians will be honored at the conference.
